It’s always great to photograph coworkers. Working with someone for 12 hours a day, you feel really close to them, like you’ve known them your whole life. It can also be a scary thing too! Because if they don’t like their photos, they know where you work! Haha. I was excited when Laura reached out for family photos.
Laura’s husband wanted a location with a lot of trees, so we decided on this park. It has an upper and a lower location. If you aren’t familiar with the area you might not know or understand that. So naturally we both ended up on opposite ends haha. I went down to meet them and we worked our way up.
Laura is a trooper! She was wearing heels and went up the dirt hill like a pro. The session started out great! Her son is a natural! But as time wore on her little girl was done haha. If you’ve ever photographed a toddler, or tried to get photos done with a toddler, you know how that goes. There is usually crying, screaming, and throwing fits. It’s ok it happens, it happens a lot actually.
I’m not kidding when I say it happens a lot, so please please please don’t feel bad. There are some photographers who won’t photograph kids under the age of 5 because of it. I think it’s fun looking back at photos of my brother and cousin when they were kids and seeing them screaming, they get a laugh out of it too. Towards the end she got to go where she wanted and do what she wanted and she was all happy, until we tried to get her to pose again haha.
Got a rambunctious toddler and want family photos done? Let’s set up a session! https://blackhoneyportraits.com/contact
